The MGS Alumnae serves as a bridge between the Old Girls and the School. As the Alumnae, we are the custodians of our rich heritage: we encourage one another to strive to be Godly women of excellence with a heart of love, and uphold our motto: To Master, To Grow, To Serve, wherever we are placed and in every phase of our lives.
A Blessed 2021 to you and your loved ones.
The new year always promises fresh starts and new beginnings. I would like to congratulate the alumnae who dropped off their MGS girls for the first time this past week. There's nothing like the inaugural day of the MGS Journey for one's own daughter and helping her pin on the iconic badge for the first of many days of treasured memories.
With the entry of Phase 3 in late December last year, there was hope of in-person events in 2021. However, given our commitment to the long-term health and safety of our MGS family, we believe it is in everyone’s best interest for us to continue to congregate remotely at least in the near future.
This gives us lots of opportunities to be creative and have fun. We MGS Girls are resilient. We share a deep and enduring bond and know how to make the most out of difficult situations. Last year’s virtual Founder's Day Celebrations via Zoom were a huge success. I am blessed with a committee that pivoted so efficiently. Looking ahead to 2021, I know that the possibilities are endless!
In the upcoming months, we have planned on-line talks, an MGS Alumnae Mentorship Programme for students in their final year at MGS and a really cool virtual cocktail social. Please keep an eye out for further details.
In the meantime, we ask that you continue supporting the MGS Alumnae Association and visit The Alumnae Shop for your MGSpirit merchandise and CNY essentials such as our own MGS angpows! We are again arranging for convenient drive through pick up of goods ordered, in addition to the option of mail delivery. Visit the shop for further details.
All of us here on the MGS Alumnae Committee are committed to working beside you to ensure that you have the best possible alumni experience. We want to lift each other up, celebrate MGS, and honour the friendships that formed here. We welcome your suggestions and look forward to your ideas.
